I have downloaded your software and printed one sheet but the paper does not work. What am I doing wrong? Also I was given your web site by Livescribe.

It sounds like you didn't actually deploy the notepads from the software and/or didn't print at 600 dpi with page scaling turned off. Can you please verify that you did both of those steps?

Would it be possible to annotate a book printed as custom paper or would it not recognize the handwriting?(As I am maybe looking to purchase the pen). Would it also be possible to have the livescribe desktop app. identify the page n°?

Quoting the post of another user of your tool : "You could make a PDF form, merge it with a dot paper PDF, print it and have people fill it in. Afterwards when you download the page from the pen, livescribe would see the writing, but on a "blank" page. Then you can export it again, and merge again with PDF form to make a complete original. "
Applied to an ebook would be that I would merge the ebook pdf with a dotpaper pdf(is that possible, regardless of the n° of pages?) When printing the dotpaper pdf, i would essentially be printing the ebook and when annotating and uploading to livescribe desktop, livescribe would only see the annotations and not the ebook printed on the background. I can then merge this notebook of annotations with the original ebook and it would look just like the paper version of my annotations?

That's correct. That is what my Template Overlay Tool does. There is a limitation to 150 pages at a time however. As long as the PDF is not secured you should have no problems. If it is a secured PDF, I'm not sure how it will work out.

Thanks again for the information. Since you seem very familiar with the Livescribe product, I am guessing you could maybe provide me with an honest answer with the following.
Like many using the product, I'll be writing & uploading notes of great value to me to the Livescribe desktop software(business ideas/essays…). I was wondering wether Livescribe or a third-party will/can have access to the notes if they wished? If yes, how do people seeking to protect information temporarily(time it takes to transform into a concrete business, published essay…) from others? Is the law the best-bet(patenting)?

As far as I know Livescribe has no way of accessing the data stored on the pen or on the computer remotely. If you were to use any of Livescribe's cloud services, for example the online pencast publishing system – then they would have access. Storing them locally on your computer should be fine.
